Old School Family Fun Day: Recap & Photos

After being postponed a week due to weather, the PRGI Old School Family Fun Day finally took place on Sunday, March 2nd, from 12pm to 3pm on Pegasus Main Street. See all the photos below.

The event brought together not just the Pegasus community, but also locals from Woodend, Ravenswood, Waikuku, Kaiapoi, and beyond. It was a celebration of community and connection, with a bit of nostalgia, fun, and community spirit.

The event was made even more special with the presence of our local mayor, Dan Gordon, who joined in the festivities and gave a few games a go. Thank you to Councillor Brent Cairns and his wife Shirley who ran the first aid station.

Activities and Fun for All Ages

The weather was amazing and everyone enjoyed the live music from the talented Josh Keating and Gina Keating, courtesy of The Good Home Pegasus. Families and friends gathered to enjoy a variety of classic old-school games, including Corn Toss, Ring Throw, and many

The Bouncy Castles were a hit thanks to our sponsors AdviceKiwi, Ray White Pegasus and National School of Aesthetics.

The face painting station, thanks to Pegasus Bay Vets, was one of our most popular activities and had a long line of eager children excited to get their faces painted. One of our face painters cancelled at the last minute, so we only had Kim Forster from ColournSparkle who was very busy!

Thank you to Stefanie Mclachlan, one of our multi-talented volunteers who popped home to get her gear and help Kim out, so more children could get their face painted.

Food, Drinks, and Treats

Of course, no event is complete without food, and the yummy sausage sizzle was a crowd favourite, with tasty sausages and bread donated by New World Ravenswood.

There was fresh, hot popcorn, thanks to the National School of Aesthetics, available and soft drinks, along with free iceblocks, thanks to The Good Home Pegasus, which helped everyone cool off - it was a very hot day!

Treasure Hunt Fun

Lake Pizza helped support our Treasure Hunt, by donating vouchers for delicious pizza, which were eagerly claimed and will no doubt be enjoyed soon!

Gratitude for Our Sponsors!

None of this would have been possible without the incredible support from our sponsors whose generosity made the day a huge success. A big thank you to them all, and we encourage everyone to show them support whenever possible - see details below.

Thanks to Our Volunteers

Huge thank you to our amazing volunteers - from setting up, manning the activities to and packing up - their hard work and enthusiasm helped make everything run smoothly. We also recognise the hard work by our PRGI committee, with all the many hours planning and time spent ensuring the event was a success.

A special thanks goes to the AdviceKiwi Pegasus Woodend Menz Shed, who were an amazing help with set-up and pack-down - we truly appreciated all their support once again.
